The GT and GT Plus trims kick off the lineup with a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 268 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission powering all four wheels with an intelligent all-wheel drive system that uses active torque vectoring for phenomenal performance even on sharp corners. The 15.5-kilowatt 306-volt battery pack is recharged by an external power source. This setup gives the Hornet R/T 288 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, 180 of which is instantly available for phenomenal response times. The PHEV powertrain sends power to the wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. The all-new PowerShot feature, exclusive to the R/T trim, is activated by pulling both paddle shifters while accelerating to provide a burst of 25 additional horsepower for fifteen seconds.
